Hello… I’m Hattie, owner of Gathered at Dusk. I am passionate about flower farming, growing beautiful flowers and creative floristry.

I have always loved flowers. This love was only deepened when we got married, and I worked with our florist to get as much colour and scent into the bouquets and decor as we could. Using a combination of home grown and bought flowers we had a flower filled wedding!

After learning more about the flower industry I realised around 90% of flowers in the UK are imported and with that comes a extremely high carbon foot print! This really shocked me and I wanted to offer an alternative.

The natural world, our planet and people are so important to me. and because of this I grow flowers aligned with nature, without the use of pesticides and chemicals. I want my customers to be able to dip their noses into their flowers.

The flower farm is a special place with as much space for wildlife as we can possibly give. Working alongside nature is at the heart of what we do. Barn owls can be seen swooping through the orchard, bumble bees buzzing around the meadow and hedgehogs scurrying around the paths. It really is a little bit of magic.

This magic inspires my floristry - creating natural, seasonal unique arrangements. The opportunity to wander around the field selecting the perfect blooms for a bouquet is the most inspirational way to work.

“The range of flowers provided was excellent… I never would have thought of also using herbs like rosemary & mint, but the smell was amazing. I’d highly recommend the workshop, Hattie is so personable it was a really lovely morning.”

Our farm is in the heart of Laxton, East Yorkshire – close to the beautiful market town of Howden, just 25 miles outside York & Hull.

The farm itself is set on 4 acres of land, made up of flowers, grassland, woodland and orchards. Visitors are given a warm welcome from our resident animals – and as we farm in a nature friendly way, you’ll notice an abundance of wildlife.

Where we are

Every flower you buy from us is lovingly grown on our smallholding in Yorkshire
